Rotary Evaporator

Rotary Evaporators (Rotary Vacuum Evaporators / Rotary Film Evaporators) are precision glass process systems designed for gentle, efficient solvent evaporation under reduced pressure. By lowering the boiling point of solvents, these systems enable safe processing of heat-sensitive materials with high recovery efficiency.

Manufactured using borosilicate glass 3.3, rotary evaporators are widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, biotech, food, academic, and pilot plant environments for solvent removal, concentration, purification, and recovery.

Compact rotary evaporators suitable for laboratory and pilot-scale operations, offering controlled rotation, uniform heating, and efficient condensation. Ideal for routine solvent removal, concentration, and extraction workflows.

Working Principle of Rotary Evaporator

A rotary evaporator operates by combining vacuum, rotation, and controlled heating:

  • The sample is placed inside a rotating evaporation flask.
  • A vacuum system reduces internal pressure, lowering the solvent boiling point.
  • The flask rotates, forming a thin liquid film on the inner wall.
  • Gentle heating from a water or oil bath accelerates evaporation.
  • Vapors pass through a condenser, where they liquefy.
  • The condensed solvent is collected in a receiver flask.

This method ensures fast evaporation without thermal degradation, making it ideal for sensitive compounds.
